Film: Let’s Go on an Adventure Tues AM

For the Winter Semester, I’m going to give you all a chance to use the LL Bean gear you got during the holidays.  Yes, we’re going on adventures.  Well, loosely interpreted adventrues (notice the lower case ‘a’).  We will start with the classice ‘Treasure of the Sierra Madre’ (Bogart, Walter Houston, Tim Holt), and work our way through eight of them to conclude with ‘The Wizard of Oz’ (oh, you know who’s in it). I must show some evergreen pictures: Think Errol Flynn, Olivia deHavilland, Alan Hale, and Eugene Pallette (Friar Tuck!!) for the good guys. Basil Rathbone  and Claude Rains are the villains.  Yes, in glorious Technicolor. Music by Wolfgang Korngold.  ‘It’s The Adventures of Robin Hood’ 1938.  No doubt Indiana Jones will stop by and certainly Sean Connery and Michael Caine will pair up in the ‘The Man Who Would be King.’ I’m spoiled for choices in this one.
