Have you wanted to know more about Flamenco, the beautiful and mysterious art form that hails from Southern Spain? Well, come learn by doing! Flamenco is a culture all its own, and we’ll focus on the dance elements. Men and women will explore different palos (rhythms) and try their hand (and feet!) at a few. We’ll begin with the simple 4-count Tangos and, when we’re feeling comfortable, move on to the more complex 12-count rhythms. The course will conclude with trying out the Sevillanas, a folk dance performed all over Southern Spain in the ferie (festivals) during April every year. No dance experience necessary – just a love of learning something new. Ole! Class will not meet January 13 or February 10.
