Film: Women in Film 3 Tues AM

As Winter closes in let us hunker down around the big screen for Women in Film #3. I’ve chosen nine iconic films I’ve never shown before. We’ll see the Queen of Warner’s lot, Joan Crawford, in ‘Mildred Pierce’ (Best Actress Oscar for Joan). The definitive Dietrich picture, ‘Morocco,’ (Yes! – 50,000 watts of backlight on her hair at all times) with a shockingly young Gary Cooper. Frances McDormand’s outrage is palpable in ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.’ For a little Down-Home flavor we have ‘Fried Green Tomatoes.’ Let us not forget Katherine Hepburn as the single woman of a certain age who vacations alone in Venice and is swept off her feet by Rossano Brazzi (Yikes, he’s married!). For those who must have a three-hanky picture, Barbara Stanwyck is on hand for ‘Stella Dallas.’ I hope you can make it!
